McCarran International Airport Information

Las Vegas Airport, also known as McCarran Field with the IATA LAS, serves Las Vegas and Clark County, in the state of Nevada. It is in the top 30 of the busiest airports in the world, ranking number 23 in 2013. Previous known as Rockwell Field, then Alamo Field, it was officially renamed to McCarran Field after Senator Pat McCarran who was an early support of Aviation in the United States. It is the largest base for airlines Allegiant Air, Spirit Airlines and Southwest Airlines. The largest international carrier is the Canadian Airline Westjet which transports over 1 million passengers per year. Las Vegas airport was amongst the first major airports (perhaps the largest one) to offer free Wifi throughout the airport in 2005. Due the size of the airport, it was the largest free wifi zone at at the time. It has 3 terminals: Terminal 1 which is the main domestic terminal, Concourse D a detached terminal which is actually attached to Terminal 1, and Terminal 2 which handles international flights.
